Cycle Instead Bikeweek - the State’s annual celebration of recreational and commuter cycling, 21 - 28 March

Below is a list of the events happening in WA for Bike Week. Most events are free and open to everyone. Click here for regional events.

A free healthy breakfast provided by the City of Subiaco at the Dome Cafe in Rokeby Road, Subiaco for anyone cycling into work

Department of Agriculture and Food Bike to Work Breakfast

A breakfast for metropolitan staff who ride to work. Regional offices will hold their own breakfasts, morning tea rides or social weekend rides.

Big Bicycle Breakfast

A free breakfast for QE2 Medical Centre staff who ride to work. Participants are encouraged to bring another person along.

KEMH Ride to Work Breakfast

A free breakfast for King Edward Memorial Hospital staff who ride to work.

 Learn to Ride for Ladies

The Town of Cambridge will be holding three learn to ride courses for ladies who have never ridden or haven’t ridden for many years. The courses will be held at the tennis courts and include information on basic bike maintenance

 Bicycle Transportation Alliance “Y Cycle”

A celebration of cycling in the cinema. A series of cycling-related movies will be shown on the big screen in the Northbridge Piazza from 3pm to 10pm. Free bicycle maintenance will also be provided for attendees. website

Melville Big Bikeweek Breakfast

A free healthy breakfast organised by the City of Melville at Apex Reserve near Canning Bridge, Mt Pleasant for anyone who cycles to work or for recreation in the area. 

Friday 26th 3pm

City of Perth Ride Around the River

A leisurely ride for City of Perth staff with the choice of 9km or 14km routes

Munda Biddi Early Birds

Sunday 28th  

Bike Clues-It by PIHC

A cycling event involving a mystery tour, cryptic clues and questions around the Perth metro for the recreational and serious recreational cyclists. Would be great opportunity for good cyclists to bring their friends along and explore Perth bike routes and encourage cycling

Sunday 28th 8.30am

Cockburn Community Coastal Ride

A family and community ride from Woodman Point to Port Coogee and return. Led by an experienced guide, the 30 min ride will be on paths and participants can enjoy a free healthy breakfast afterwards. There will also be activities for parents and children such as face painting, bike servicing and plenty of giveaways.

Sunday 28th 8.30 am

Rotary Club of Mandurah Breakfast Ride

A self-guided treasure hunt ride using eight trails of varying length commencing at Hall Park on the western foreshore. Participants in the ride will have the opportunity to win prizes and also have the option of enjoying a cooked breakfast for a minimal fee.
