Where to ride in WA
About this page
We will be compiling a selection of rides for all abilities. These will range from a casual ride around the river for the whole family to more testing rides for the experienced cyclists.
Rail Way Reserves Heritage Trail
Located within the picturesque Perth Hills in Western Australia, Railway Reserves Heritage Trail retraces 59 kilometres of the old Eastern Railway that formerly linked Fremantle to York in the late 1880s.
Around the River
Bikewest has put together an excellent map demonstrating the well known route around the Swan River in Perth. It is roughly 50km to ride the whole route, but the ride has been broken into eight sections to cater for families or for those who want a shorter ride.

Munda Biddi Trail
T
he Munda Biddi Trail (which means path through the forest in the Nyoongar Aboriginal language) is fast becoming a world-class, nature-based, off-road cycling experience.
Starting in Mundaring the trail meanders through scenic river valleys and the magnificent eucalypt forests of the State’s South West. It utilises a network of bush tracks, firebreaks and disused railway formations and has sections suitable for cyclists of all ages and experience levels. Situated a comfortable day’s ride apart are purpose-built Munda Biddi campsites with roomy Camp Huts and tent sites.
Cottesloe to Yanchep
A favourite of BWA president Paul Fiddes, the Cottesloe to Yanchep ride is 150km ride that takes you along the coast. Much of the ride can be enjoyed on new roads.
Members of BWA can log on to BLINK and view a map and report of the ride.
