4. BWA and the City of Perth Cycle Plan
About this page
BWA is working with the City of Perth as it develops a Cycle Plan for the City to support the thousands of cyclists in the City at present and encourage others to take up cycling.
City of Perth Cycle Plan
Help inform the development of a cycle friendly city.
The City of Perth is in the process of drafting a plan to make the city more bicycle friendly and is calling on the public to have their say.
The Cycle Plan will help the City meet its 2029 vision to create a ‘progressive city streetscape with improved access and routes for cyclists’.
It is envisaged that this document reflects the City's strategic direction, includes objectives and targets for cycling in Perth and is supported by;
- the development of a Strategic Network
- best practice Land Use Planning principles
- improved Infrastructure and Safety
- increased End-of-Trip facilities
- identified opportunities for Integrated Transport Programs and Projects
- high quality Education and Training
- effective Encouragement and Promotion activities
At this stage, the City of Perth is collecting feedback and suggestions regarding considerations for the development of the draft Cycle Plan for 2010 - 2021.
