2. CRT - CHAIN REACTION TRAINING

About this page

Chain Reaction Training (CRT) runs a range of programs to help develop, up-skill and improve your cycling technique.  They also conduct a range of weekly rides and interval training sessions.

Road Cycling Training/Coaching/Mentoring

If you have not done a great deal of road riding or lack bunch riding experience or simply need to get fitter, then it is well worth getting some friendly advice on training by speaking to one of the CRT trainers.  They can help you to prepare and up-skill for any road cycling participation event or group ride.

If you want to improve your road cycling skills, technique & fitness then join CRT’s next course.

There are a range of recreational CRT groups rides that head out onto the road every week.  These rides are a great way to meet like-minded riders, get some good riding experience and gain some extra motivation from riding with others of similar ability.

Learning the skills of bike-handling, navigating the rules of pace lines, dealing with road hazards and difficult conditions, knowing when and how to use various riding techniques – all of these and more form the foundation on which roadies rely on every ride. INTERVAL TRAINING

Interval Training should be an integral part of your training week and it DOES improve your cycling. At some point, just riding more isn’t enough and you have to add substantial doses of intensity.  Once you reach 8-10 hours of cycling per week, improvement slows dramatically or even reverses unless intervals, fast climbs or other hard efforts are included in the mix.

CRT Interval Training covers speed work, cadence, power & strength output, S&E sessions.

Swap a leisurely midweek cruise for a short session of High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT). A few brief, gut-busting sessions can improve your endurance as well as much longer rides do. Going hard can prep your muscles to go long.
