Bicycling Western Australia has been advising Surf Life Saving WA in the development of their cycling specific first aid course. We’re proud to announce that the course is now available so you can equip yourself with the knowledge to assist others when out on the road.
The Cyclist’s First Aid course is only two hours in duration and costs just $45. Bicycling Western Australia members receive a free water bottle and a light weight universal compact first aid kit as part of their registration.
CYCLISTS FIRST AID TRAINING
The Cyclists First Aid course is a 2-hour course tailored to provide practical and effective first aid specific to cycling injuries. The plan is to develop cyclists’ first aid knowledge and skills enabling you to effectively assess an emergency scene and administer basic first aid specific to cycling injuries.
Basic emergency management assessment
Treatment of cycling injuries
- Head injuries
- Identification and treatment of Internal
- Sprains and strains
- Pressure points
This course will teach cyclists to follow a First aid method and be able to manage should they be first on the scene.
The evidence is clear, the earlier an injury is treated the faster the recovery time.
The focus is on ensuring that the correct assessments are made and the correct first aid administered until professional help arrives on the scene.
METHOD OF DELIVERY
Full Course: 2 hours of face to face training
On successful completion of the training, participants will receive a Surf Life Saving WA certificate of participation.
Minimum group number of 10. Bicyling Western Australia members pay just $45 each person and receive a FREE water bottle and compact first aid.
