Listed below is a number of frequently asked questions about the Dams Challenge.  If you cannot find the answer to your question then please contact us.

EVENT VILLAGE LOCATION

Where is the event village for the 2018 Dams Challenge?

The start/finish area will be situated on campus at Curtin University,  Kent Street, Bentley.

Where do I enter the Curtin University Campus?

Vehicular access will be from the Manning Road and Hayman Road entrances. Riders will be able to access the site via Beazley Avenue entrance (off Kent Street). Beazley Avenue will be closed to vehicles on event day.

Where can I park?

There is ample free parking within the Curtin University campus. Parking is permitted in both Staff and Student allocated bays on the event day.

What will parking cost?

There is no charge for parking on the Curtin University campus at the weekend.

Can I use public transport to get to the venue?

The closest train station is Canning Bridge on the Mandurah train line, just four kilometres from Curtin University.

EVENT FAQ'S

Do I have to register with another rider as part of a paired team?

No.  In 2018 the Dams Challenge has been opened up to individual riders so each rider now needs to register individually.  You may still choose to ride as a pair (as in previous years) on the day of the event.

I can no longer attend the event, can I get a refund?

Bicycling Western Australia has a no refund policy.  We do, however, allow you to nominate a replacement rider (up until one week prior to the event).  If you would like to nominate a replacement rider for either distance please complete this Rider Substitute Form and email to info@bwa.org.au.  Fees may apply (to non members).  No changes are permitted in the week leading up to the event.

Can I collect my rider pack before the event?

You can collect your Rider Pack and Scody jersey (if you ordered one) from the Event Village at Curtin University in Bentley on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday leading up to the event.

If you are planning on collecting packs on behalf of multiple teams we ask you contact us so we can arrange for these to be ready when you arrive.

You can collect your timing sticker from the Registration tent on event day from 5.30am. 

Is there a type of bike restriction?

There is no restriction to what type of bike you choose to ride in the Dams Challenge provided the bike is legal to ride on the road.

Can I ride a time trial bike?

Yes, however we strongly discourage the use of Time Trial bikes and TT bars as they are not the most ideal bike to ride in this type of event.

Is there an age limit to register for the Dams Challenge?

There is no age limit however, particpants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult or guardian during the event.

I have signed up for the Dams Challenge.  When will I receive specific event information?

An information pack with all the details you will need will be uploaded to this site and emailed to all registered riders in the week prior to the event.  Important details and changes will also be communicated to riders through email on a regular basis.

I have ordered a jersey.  When will it be available for collection?

Jerseys will be available for collection from the event village at Curtin University on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday leading up to the event.

Can I change the size of my jersey?

No.  All jerseys are ordered in accordance with your requested size at time of registration.  We will  have a small number of jerseys available for 'swaps'.  We offer no guarantee that we will be able to accommodate your request to swap your jersey for another size.

We have sample jersey sizes in the BWA office should you wish to try one on prior to registering.

I have registered and completed the payment.  How do I know if my registration is confirmed?

You will receive a confirmation email and receipt once your registration is successful.  We will contact you leading up to the event with further information.  If you do not receive an email confirmation please contact us.

I have just joined / renewed my membership with BWA however when I try to register for the event I get an error message - "member mismatch".

Our registration system requires two working days to upload new membership details.  In order to receive the member discount you will need wait a couple of days.  If you are still not successful after a couple days please contact us.
