In a recent online survey, our members and social media followers were asked to identify what they consider to be the priorities to make riding easier and safer throughout the State.

A summary of the main responses is as follows:

Dedicated bike paths and lanes, connected routes,  infrastructure
Road Safety
Safety, driver and rider education, in-school bike education, legislative change (Minimum Passing Distance, reduced speed limits)
End of Trip Facilities
Secure bike parking, showers, lockers

Other comments/topics included better integration of facilities across council boundaries, explanation of transport revenue and expenditure, discussion on helmet laws, more promotion of the benefits of cycling and ways to normalise ‘everyday’ bike riding.

The responses and data will be used by our Board to help to shape our campaigns into the future.
